New - The Birdie Song for ShelterBox
The Birdie Song has been re-released, this time with words written by lyricist Peter Foss who lives in Cornwall. He has chosen to use the CD to raise funds for the disaster relief charity ShelterBox which is also based in the county. Mike Dees visited the organisation's headquarters where he heard about the countries ShelterBox is currently working in, and how a news report prompted its founder to act.

As an instrumental dance hit by The Tweets, The Birdie Song charted for 23 weeks when released in 1983. But despite its enduring popularity it has since been voted one of the three worst records of all time. The lyricist Peter Foss was asked to write words for the tune in 1990 but it's taken 19 years for this re-release to come about. Performed by the all-girl group The Birdettes, Cornwall Online Radio is the first station to air this revamped classic.
